No COLA was payable in January 2010, January 2011, or in January 2016. The COLA escalator is automatic but wage loss benefits are offset by disability benefits a worker receives from CPP and QPP at a rate of 50%. (Social Security payments always reflect the benefits due for the preceding month.)
