Every quarter, I like to review and summarize my notes from webinars I attended during the last three months. Below are some interesting tidbits from recent programs that I attended: Future Self Thinking - Many people often think of their “future self” (who they will be decades in the future) as a stranger. As a result, they don’t think about the consequences of doing something now because their actions are affecting another person rather than themselves personally.

XPO Logistics enhances maternity benefits

XPO Logistics, a provider of sustainable end-to-end logistics solutions across Europe, has enhanced its maternity benefits for soon-to-be and new parents based in the UK. After two years’ service, employees will be entitled to the first six weeks of maternity leave paid at 90% of their weekly average earnings, with the following 20 weeks paid at 80% of their basic pay and allowances, including statutory maternity pay.

Business leaders and employees are not on the same page when it comes to productivity

A new poll of 2,000 people suggests that while 90 percent of business leaders think their performance management process is a success, only 55 percent of employees agree with them. According to the State of Performance Enablement report from Betterworks, there are significant disconnects between how organisational leaders and their employees and managers view their ability to perform optimally and maximise productivity.

29% would not cope financially if diagnosed with a critical illness
