Half of employers think pots-for-life will increase pensions engagement

Employee Benefits poll: Approximately half (49%) of organisations think the pots-for-life plan will increase employees’ engagement with their pensions, according to a survey of Employee Benefits readers. More than one-third (39%) of respondents said that they do not think that the pots-for-life plan will increase workers’ engagement with their pensions , while 12% were unsure what the impact would be either way.

UK loses 150 million working days due to lack of workplace support for women’s health

A new poll from healthcare provider Benenden Health claims that women in the UK miss an average of nine days of work a year due to health issues, exacerbated by a lack of appropriate healthcare support for female workers. The survey also suggest that four in ten (42 percent) have heard derogatory comments about a female employee’s health in the workplace, often around them taking time off work, being difficult to work with or not able to do their job properly.

30% of female public sector staff have had flexible working requests denied

Just under a third (30%) of women working in schools, hospitals, care homes, town halls, police stations and other public services have had requests to work flexibly denied, according to research by trade union Unison. Its survey of 44,065 women working in the public sector also found that 25% of those who were told they could not alter the way they worked had their requests denied multiple times.
