Below are some interesting tidbits from recent programs that I attended: Future Self Thinking - Many people often think of their “future self” (who they will be decades in the future) as a stranger. As a result, they don’t think about the consequences of doing something now because their actions are affecting another person rather than themselves personally.

XPO Logistics enhances maternity benefits

XPO Logistics, a provider of sustainable end-to-end logistics solutions across Europe, has enhanced its maternity benefits for soon-to-be and new parents based in the UK. After two years’ service, employees will be entitled to the first six weeks of maternity leave paid at 90% of their weekly average earnings, with the following 20 weeks paid at 80% of their basic pay and allowances, including statutory maternity pay.

AI can help people deal with burnout, say HR managers

29% would not cope financially if diagnosed with a critical illness

Almost one-third (29%) of parents with young children do not feel at all confident in their ability to cope financially if diagnosed with a critical illness, according to research by life and pensions mutual insurer LV=. Its second annual Reaching resilience report , which surveyed 4,000 UK adults, also found that the average working adult supports three people with their income, including themselves, with 10% supporting five or more dependents.
