Earlier this year, a report from building consultancy Mace advocated for a retrofit first principle for buildings. The transaction with Legal and General, which was made possible by a discretionary one-off contribution from the employer, covers 64 pensioners and 22 deferred members. More than 400 employees at food distributors Brake Brothers have accepted a pay deal of between 19.3% and 23.2% increases on the basic hourly wage. Trade union Unite worked with its members to secure the pay deal, worth over £6,000, for Brake Brothers warehouse workers and distribution drivers based at Newhouse in Motherwell. The deal includes a £300 December bonus and access to an attendance bonus of £750.
