Cal/OSHA has published a model plan to help California employers comply with a new law requiring that they have in place a workplace violence plan. The model is designed to provide structure for employers to create their own plans. Businesses have the option to use the model plan, create their own or use another plan template. Alternatively, they may incorporate workplace violence prevention into their current injury and illness prevention plan.

Between March 2020 and September 2021, millions of workers furloughed under the UK government’s Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme lived what for many of us is a dream: being paid not to work. Through interviews, I’ve researched the impact of this time on 35 people who were furloughed under the scheme. I found that for some, furlough created opportunities for reflection and growth, but for most of my interviewees it was a time of uncertainty and disorientation.

Electronics business Epson UK has completed a £60 million pension buy-in for its Epson UK Pension Scheme. The deal, which was carried out with financial services firm Just Group and scheme trustee Dalriada, secures the benefits of 113 pensioners and 289 deferred members. The scheme is sponsored by Epson UK and Epson Europe, which are subsidiaries of Japanese technology manufacturing firm Seiko Epson Corporation.
