Far From Over—NSEU Announces Indefinite Strike at Samsung

NSEU union workers at Samsung are on an indefinite strike in Hwaseong, South Korea, uniting in their demand for better benefits. The National Samsung Electronics Union had attempted a one-day strike last month and then announced a three-day strike earlier this month. Samsung union workers have attempted to initiate negotiations with the company over pay and benefits but the tech giant has been reluctant to come to the table to discuss the conditions laid out by the workers on strike.

49% of UK organisations’ 2024 salary budgets were lower than the previous year

Half (49%) of UK organisations reported that their 2024 salary budgets were lower than the previous year, according to global advisory, broking and solutions firm Willis Towers Watson (WTW). Its Salary budget planning report was compiled by its Rewards Data Intelligence practice. Approximately 32,000 responses were received from employers across 168 countries worldwide, with 1,179 UK organisations responding.

Nearly all CEOs now say they work across different locations

CEOs are leading by example when it comes to hybrid working, with nine in 10 (93 percent) saying they have personally adopted flexible working patterns according to a new poll. The survey of more than 500 CEOs by International Workplace Group suggests that the vast majority now split their working time between locations. Just 7 percent said they spend five days a week working from a central office.
