Employees have a better chance of managing out-of-pocket spending when they understand how their out of pocket expenses can be reduced and what type of savings will come along with that. To help you get started, here are 6 tips to help employees manage their out-of-pocket expenses.

Amazon and other retailers often note which items are FSA eligible on their online stores and allow you to specifically search for FSA eligible items to make it easier for employees to spend their FSA balance.
And while consumers seem to have a love/hate relationship with HDHPs, many of those who take the time to fully calculate the total out-of-pocketcost of medical coverage and care realize that HDHPs, even with higher deductibles, can often save them money. But for employees in your group health plan, they have many options for obtaining a test with no out-of-pocketcosts. Under an executive order issued by President Biden, employees in a group health plan are eligible to receive COVID-19 at-home test kits with no cost-sharing, copay, coinsurance or deductible.
Reimbursements to employees who buy tests outside those networks may be limited to the lower of $12 per test or the actual cost ($24 for test kits with two tests per pack). Employees, on the other hand, would probably prefer safe harbor #1, since they incur no immediate out-of-pocketcosts. One safe harbor, two options.
